Health in the Working World

There are many metaphors which describe the human body. Some think of it simply as another animal. Some think of the human body as a machine, and there are those who think of the body as a kind of housing for the soul. Regardless of which you are most likely to believe, there is a common thread. In all of these metaphors the body needs to be kept healthy.

In countries all over the world, just like in Canada, people are becoming more and more aware that they need to take care of their bodies. The banning of smoking in public places is a great example of this. If we think of the body as a machine, then it must be properly maintained and oiled. If we think of the body as an animal, then we have to appreciate its need for movement, exercise and sunlight. We forget that we are just animals who need to be outside once in a while. Another example is cosmetic dentistry.

We think of our teeth as something which is aesthetic but in its most basic form it is just what we use to eat with. The health of our whole bodies is vital.

We spend time in offices more than we do outside, and this is not healthy. Make sure to exercise and eat right and keep your body healthy in the ways that you can.
